Minimum CLB 7 in all four language areas (speaking, listening, reading, writing) is required to be eligible.
Second official language — at least CLB 5 in all four abilities?
Accepted testing agencies are CELPIP (General test) and IELTS (General Training test) for English, and TEF for French. Language test results must not be more than two years old at the time of receipt by the NSOI and at application to IRCC.

0Years of paid work experience in the same occupation, within the last 10 years, in NOC Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A/B *
Work experience must be paid (volunteer work and unpaid internships do not count), full-time (1,560 hours) or the part-time equivalent, in the same occupation, within the last 10 years.

The job must meet provincial employment standards and prevailing wage rates, fill a genuine labour shortage, and not contravene existing bargaining agreements or labour disputes. Maximum points: 10

Adaptability (max 10 points)
0Candidates with an accompanying spouse or common-law partner can also earn points on their behalf. Points cannot be claimed for a spouse who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. A maximum of 10 points is awarded under this factor regardless of how many criteria are met.

Candidate's previous study in Nova Scotia
At least two academic years of full-time study (15+ hrs/week) in a program of 2+ years at a secondary or post-secondary school in Nova Scotia. Maximum points: 5
Spouse or common-law partner's previous study in Nova Scotia
Same criteria as above, applied to the accompanying spouse or common-law partner. Maximum points: 5
Candidate's previous work in Nova Scotia
At least one year of authorized, full-time work in NOC Skill Type 0, Skill Level A or B, with a valid work permit or while authorized to work in Canada. Maximum points: 10
Spouse or common-law partner's previous work in Nova Scotia
The candidate's spouse or common-law partner completed a minimum of one year of authorized, full-time work in Nova Scotia. Maximum points: 5
Relatives in Nova Scotia
The candidate, or their spouse/common-law partner, has a relative (parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt/uncle, or niece/nephew) who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, 18+ years old, residing in Nova Scotia. Maximum points: 5
Spouse or common-law partner's level of language proficiency
The candidate's spouse or common-law partner has at least CLB 4 in English or French, in all four abilities, supported by a test from a designated agency. Maximum points: 5
