Ways to Invest in
Singapore

Singapore Investment Visa

Singapore does not offer a traditional “investment visa.” Instead, it offers the Global Investor Programme (GIP), which provides a pathway to Permanent Residence (PR) for eligible high-net-worth entrepreneurs and business owners who make significant investments in Singapore. The program is administered by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).

Who Qualifies?

  • Successful entrepreneurs or business owners.

  • Strong business track record and substantial wealth.

  • Passive investors generally do not qualify.

Investment Options:

Application Steps:

  1. Confirm eligibility.

  2. Gather documents (passport, business records, audited financials, tax returns, proof of wealth, business plan).

  3. Choose an investment option.

  4. Submit the GIP application.

  5. Attend an interview (if required).

  6. Receive Approval-in-Principle.

  7. Complete the investment.

  8. Obtain PR upon meeting all requirements and approval.

Costs:

  • GIP application fee: S$20,000

  • Investment: S$10 million, S$25 million, or S$200 million AUM, depending on the chosen option.

Alternative Pathways:

  • EntrePass: For innovative startup founders.

  • Employment Pass + Company Setup: Start a business, obtain an Employment Pass, and later apply for PR through the regular process.

Important Note:

Buying property in Singapore does not provide residency or PR.

Bottom line: The GIP is intended for ultra-high-net-worth entrepreneurs. For most Indian entrepreneurs and professionals, setting up a business and obtaining an Employment Pass is a more practical route toward living and potentially gaining PR in Singapore.
